'American Idol': Jacob Lusk channels Luther Vandross on 'A House is Not a Home'
Emotional gentle giant Jacob Lusk took to the stage for the "American Idol" Top 12 men Tuesday night (March 1). The night was definitely split between ballads and up-tempo songs and Lusk completely owned the ballad side of things.
His song was "A House is Not a Home," originally a hit in 1964 by legend Dionne Warwick. The song was covered in 1981, however, by great R&B singer Luther Vandross, who tragically passed away in 2005 at the age of 54.
Interestingly, this was the fifth performance of the song in "Idol" history. Tamyra Gray, Ruben Studdard, Anwar Robinson and Elliot Yamin all performed it before. Funnily enough, we had only remembered Anwar doing it.
